I found on the web who had the same name as myself. Could you please tell
me if there is a plaid associated with our surname. I am giving this link
to my mother who has done extensive genealogical research. Perhaps she will
be of some help to you. -John

of Spowarts in my family tree- (Its my mothers maiden name)- willing to try

Dunfermline to check a record or two! My Spowarts also hail from Torryburn-
I think your Samuel is more likely to be the child of David Spowart and Catherine
Hempseed?

6 children and John's brother Matthew and settled in the Invercargill area
of the South Island. John & Matthew Spowart's parent were John Spowart
